It's been a fun week with a lot of crazy stuff going on. Today was mismatch clothes day.

Yesterday was crazy sock day.

Tomorrow is red out. It would be great to have the whole class dressed in red.

This week we started writing sentences in class. You're going to start seeing papers that look a little like these. You probably won't be able to read them yet, but please have your child read it to you. We've been using pictures to help us think of memories to write about. They have learned that a sentence starts with a capital, ends with a period and has spaces between words. They also know that a sentence has to tell you something. It can't just be a list of words.

The kids have great ideas and I love to hear about their memories.
Today they will bring home a book in the blue folder that has words. It's very simple and they will have memorized it already. When they read it to you, I need you to make sure they point to the words as they read and that the word they are saying should match the word they are pointing to. That's the hard part. Since they will have it memorized, they won't want to actually look at the word as they say it.
Thanks so much for your help at home.
