School in the Dark and Madison's Day

I knew I was in for an adventure when I was told to bring a flashlight to school on Tuesday. The school had lost power during the night due to the storm. No one knew when it might be restored so we just did the best we could. At first, my classroom was really dark so we did "Art in the Dark".
Some of the boys stood by the window to draw. The biggest adventure was riding the school bus to the high school to eat lunch. The kids were so great. They were very well behaved and I was very proud of them.
When we got back to school, we were talking about what we could do and someone said, "Let's watch a movie." That sparked a great conversation about what you can and can't do when the power goes out. So we decided to write about it.
The best part of the day for me was going home at 12:30, but my high school kids had to stay at school. I got to enjoy a nice quiet house for a while.
Wednesday was Madison's day to be the photographer. Here's what she had to say.
We have reading stations every morning. We are in different teams and every team has work to do while Mrs. Kyle listens to kids read. Luke is doing the "Write, Stamp, Write" station. He is working on sight words.
Mrs. Kyle is listening to Caleb read.
In this station, we had to write sentences.

My favorite station is "Write the Room". We have to find words in the room that start with all the letters of the alphabet.
